How is it possible for somebody to go through life never having felt appreciation or gratitude? Is it just a case of them not recognizing the occasions when they felt gratitude?

For me I am grateful for so much and to so many people.

I am grateful for my amazing childhood, growing up surrounded by nature in Africa.

I am grateful for the homes we lived in, with gardens and swimming pools.

I am grateful for the fact that I had a wonderful family to enjoy it with.

Ok so many people didn't have an amazing childhood. They were abused or neglected, maybe they went hungry or were exposed to drugs or alcohol. However, the people that had such terrible childhoods that they have nothing to be grateful for are surely in the minority.

As for appreciation, I find that even harder to believe than a lack of gratitude.

I woke up this morning and looked out the window at a perfect blue sky. What more do you need to feel appreciation?

The other day my daughter bought herself an orange rose. Her complete joy and excitement affected everybody around us. The man serving her at the shop carefully tied a bright orange ribbon around the rose and handed it to her with a huge grin on his face. As my daughter left the shop she giggled aloud and hopped up and down. Everybody in the vicinity turned and looked and smiled in appreciation.

Of course, I was extremely grateful that she was my daughter and I was the lucky one to take her home, but everybody else who saw her that day experienced some level of appreciation.

That is all it takes, seeing somebody smile or their face light up when you visit. Hearing children giggling uncontrollably in a park. Examining a rose or wild flower, feeling the wind or rain on your face.

All it takes is the ability to notice the reality around you.

And maybe that is the problem. People are not connected to reality. They believe they are. They watch the news and shake their heads and say, "what a terrible world we live in."

People are always saying things like, "It is time to stop dreaming and get back to reality." They believe that reality is bad. That it is hard or difficult or painful. It is almost as if they are unable to believe what they see around them. Or perhaps they just genuinely don't see what is around them any more. They don't hear the children laughing, they don't notice the wild flowers, they don't notice the smile from a stranger.

Or perhaps it is even worse than that. The hear the children and rather than feeling appreciation they feel annoyed. Those children making a noise and disturbing me again. They see the wild flowers and shake their heads. Those weeds are getting out of hand, the council ought to sort that mess out. They see the stranger smile and look quickly away, after all he must be completely insane to be smiling in today's world.

Take time to feel appreciation for the smallest thing around you and you will notice more and more to feel appreciation for. Soon the idea of feeling appreciation just for the sake of feeling appreciation won't be such a crazy idea. Look around you at your own life, your own reality to find things to feel grateful for. Do you have a family? They may be driving you crazy but how would you feel if they weren't around. Practice feeling grateful for their mere presence. Do you have work? Perhaps a job you hate? Well would it be better to be unemployed? Be grateful that you have a job. Feel gratitude when you see that your salary has been deposited into your account. Then think about how you can make your job better. More enjoyable. Think too about how to get away from your job.

What is your dream? Stop worrying about reality and start dreaming. Then work towards that dream. Or find something that you love to do outside of work and spend more time and energy on that. The more you feel grateful the more you will find to be grateful for.

The idea of feeling appreciation and gratitude for no reason is something we should all strive for.

I may be naive in my belief that reality is so much better than what we believe in our heads but take some time to test it out. Go through what is bad in your life, not the world, just your life. Then go through what is good. I truly believe that for 90% of people the good far outweighs the bad. And yet most of those 90% the focus is always on the bad rather than the good. Allow yourself some time to wallow in the good.

Allow yourself some time to be happy.

Everyone has heard, and has probably used the term "conspiracy theorist," and the fact of the term being in common use, also indicates that we generally agree on what it means. I saw a movie by that name, and the title character was a raving lunatic who kept his food in thermoses with combination locks to reduce his chances of being poisoned by imaginary enemies.

Regardless of how the stupid movie turned out, what's important here is the common perception people have of someone to whom that label is applied, and just as important, is who it is that applies the label. The common perception is that someone who is labeled a "conspiracy theorist" is suffering from some type of psychological disorder, and that label is usually applied to people by our government, and our news media. The next thing to consider, is that the label is applied to anyone who questions our government's version of events in any matter. Doesn't it logically follow that the media are teaching us to assume that anyone who questions the government is insane? When that label is applied to a person, doesn't it become easy to dismiss everything they say without even hearing it? How convenient for them.

I think the label first became widely used to slander people who questioned the details surrounding the JFK assassination, and forty years later, there aren't too many thinking people who still believe the Warren Commission's "lone gunman" explanation. That explanation is doubted by everyone who has taken the time to look into the details, and believed only by people who refuse to.

Which is "theory" and which is fact? In the absence of a full confession, this can only be decided by a preponderance of evidence, and it would be silly to come to a conclusion on any matter without looking at all the evidence available. This is only common sense, just as it is safe to assume some degree of guilt or complicity on the part of anyone who lies about an event, or tries to hide, plant, or destroy any type of evidence.

Conspiracy theories arise from evidence. After the government releases an explanation of a particular event, a conspiracy theory is only born because evidence exists to disprove their explanation, or at least call it into question. There's nothing insane about it, unless you define sanity as believing whatever the government tells you. In light of the fact that our government lies to us regularly, I would define believing everything they tell you as utter stupidity.

In July of 1996, flight 800 exploded over Long Island. Shortly after their terrorist explanation failed scrutiny, our government then explained the event by claiming that a faulty electrical system caused a spark that ignited a fuel tank, and the people who doubted this explanation were quickly labeled "conspiracy theorists." More than a hundred witnesses saw a missile travel from the ground up to the plane just prior to its explosion, but rather than being treated as eyewitnesses to an event, they were labeled "conspiracy theorists," which label allowed all subsequent investigation to ignore the strongest evidence in the matter.

Our "investigative" news agencies decided to accept and disseminate the official story, and they helped us forget the U.S. naval station nearby, the fact that missiles were regularly test fired there, and naturally, they paid no heed to more than a hundred "conspiracy theorists" who saw the plane get blown out of the sky by a missile. I believe that the U.S. Navy accidentally shot down flight 800, and that's my belief because it's the most sensible explanation that can be drawn from the available evidence. I'm not theorizing about conspiracies, but there are conflicting explanations of the event, and if the Navy did accidentally blow a passenger plane out of the sky, who would have a motive to lie about it? The U.S. government, or a hundred witnesses?

Then of course, there were the "crazy conspiracy theories" arising from the bombing of the Alfred Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City. In that matter, audio tapes and witnesses agree that there were two explosions, the first of which occurred inside the building between eight and ten seconds before the truck bomb exploded. Explosive experts agree that Timothy McVeigh's fertilizer bomb could not have destroyed the building, and the FBI's counter terrorism chief, and members of BATF lied about their whereabouts during and prior to the catastrophe. The evening news decided not to tell you any of this, and they will label anyone who tries to a "paranoid conspiracy theorist." In light of the evidence, we would be complete fools if a conspiracy theory didn't exist.

There were no conspiracy theories arising from the explosion of flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, and there were no conspiracy theories arising from the work of the uni-bomber, so the newly invented psycho-babble that tries to explain the malady of conspiracy theorists, also needs to explain why millions of conspiracy theorists all decided not to theorize about those events. There is no psychological malady. There was simply no evidence to indicate a conspiracy.

The real question is not why people theorize about conspiracies, but why people choose to believe the government's version of events when it's obvious that they're lying. One reason is that most people never see the evidence because our "news" industry hides it, and another reason is that the same news industry will quickly associate anyone who questions the government with the people who see Elvis, Bigfoot, and UFO's.

But sadly, I think the main reason people choose to believe the government's version of events despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, is because it's easier, and safer. If you ignore most of the evidence, and accept as plausible whatever ridiculous explanation the T.V. provides, your life remains simple, and you get to sit on your ass and watch more T.V. If on the other hand, you pluck your head from that same ass and realize you've been lied to, as a citizen in a democratic society, you're instantly burdened with being responsible for doing something about it. Every citizen of the United States has a civic duty to participate in their government, and keep themselves informed of its actions, or government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" isn't possible. You were warned that "eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, " but you chose to ignore your government, and believe whatever they told you, and because of this, Americans have lost their freedom. Although presidents and senators are public servants, unlike the dog catcher and mailman, they wield a lot of power over people's lives, and that's why they have to be watched, and scrutinized.

Statistical analysts from UCLA and Rutgers University believe that John Kerry won the 2004 presidential election by an estimated 1.3 million votes, and despite the fact that these learned scholars are probably the most qualified people alive to forward such an opinion, our news madia dismisses this as "conspiracy theory." George W. Bush lost the 2000 election, and he lost the 2004 election, but he's occupying the White House, shredding our constitution, and stealing our wealth and freedom in a "war on terror" that's as fraudulent as his presidency because many Americans are too stupid to see it, too lazy to do anything about it, or both.

I'm sorry if I sound angry, but the fact of the matter is that I am angry. While you were staring into the television like an idiot, our freedom, wealth, and constitutional protections have been stolen from us, and because you're stupid enough to believe the manure being shoveled by our government, you've allowed them to commit bigger and more heinous crimes. Because you were too lazy to research their nonsensical economic policies, and see them for the scams that they are, we'll all soon be living in poverty. And because you're so lazy, apathetic, and easily lied to, millions have died for the profits of a few. I have every right to be angry, and only a fool wouldn't be.

Only a small portion of my anger is reserved for the government of the United States, because they only did what can be expected of any government. They grabbed money, power and control where it was easy to do so. Most of my anger is directed toward my fellow American citizens, because they allowed it to happen by believing whatever they're told, and not doing what's expected of them. Patriotism in America does not mean waving the flag in blind loyalty to the government. As an American citizen, you have a civic duty to question your government, and hold them accountable for their actions, not use the flag as a blindfold. The American people have been duped once again, and it doesn't seem like it's a difficult thing to accomplish.

America's latest "conspiracy nuts" are better known as the 9-11 truth movement. The news media are doing their usual job of slandering them with their usual childish name calling, but for more than three years, they have refused to show you the documented fact, scientific data, expert testimony, photographic evidence, or the credible eyewitness accounts that prove U.S. government complicity in the events of September, 11, 2001. If this were just a "crazy conspiracy theory," I don't think people in our government would have worked so hard to destroy, hide, and lie about the evidence. The White House tried to derail every investigation into the matter. If we had an honest government, we wouldn't have conspiracy theories. We would have honest investigations, and fair trials, but these things are disappearing from America.

There are disturbing facts regarding the events of September 11 that every American needs to be aware of , but naturally, none of it will be on T.V. I've met a lot of people in the 9-11 truth movement, and I can assure you that none of them are crazy, paranoid, or even "conspiracy theorists." One generalization I can make about them is that they all seem to be very intelligent. Maybe the smartest thing you could do would be to start listening to them. The Arabs don't "hate your freedom." The White House hates your freedom, because it's the only thing that stands between them, and unlimited power. - Jolly Roger

THE ELEVENTH MARBLE

Any five-year old child knows that if you put ten marbles into a tin can, you can only take ten marbles back out. No amount of wishful thinking, dreaming, or praying, will yield that eleventh marble from inside that can. That eleventh marble does not exist. It never did, and it never will. All discussions about the eleventh marble are the product of imagination. The eleventh marble is a fantasy.
Private central bankers issuing the public currency as interest-bearing loans operate on the belief that they can put ten marbles (dollars) into a tin can (the world) and magically get 11 marbles back out. Thus, we may conclude that the the bankers are dumber than five-year old children! But unlike five-year old children, the bankers will take your home, your business, and your nation when they don't get that eleventh marble! The spoiled child may cry and throw a tantrum, but that will be the end of their upset. The spoiled banker, however, in his or her arrogant rage that they cannot have the eleventh marble their imagination says must still be in that tin can, may start a war before they will admit that eleventh marble was never really there.
Economies are like tin cans. Before you can take a marble out, you must have put a marble in. Nobody can give you a marble that does not exist, yet this simple reality is lost to the priests of that fantastic religion called banking in that unholiest of temples called the IMF. Their religious doctrine seems to be that there must always be an eleventh marble inside the tin can, and that the tin can unfairly withholds that eleventh marble, indeed cheats them of their right to the eleventh marble, purely out of spite. That faith in the existence of the eleventh marble, unseen and improvable, is the article of faith the religion of banking rests on. It is far easier to burn the heretics than to question the dogma.
Today we see the bankers, having already retrieved their ten marbles from the tin can, flogging the world for that missing eleventh marble. Greece does not have that eleventh marble, so they turn to Germany and ask, "Do you have an eleventh marble", and Germany replies, "Sorry, but the bankers already took the ten marbles they put in our tin can, and we are searching for an eleventh marble ourselves. Try the Americans." The Americans, of course, have only just surrendered the last of their ten marbles back to the bankers and are looking under seat cushions for that missing eleventh marble nobody seems able to find.
But the eleventh marble will never be found. After all that mayhem brought down on the tin can there still will be no eleventh marble. It does not exist. It never did, and it never will.
The problem with all modern reserve banking systems is that the moment the first bank note goes into circulation as the proceed of a loan at interest, more money is owed to the banks than actually exists. Ten marbles have been put into the tin can, but the bankers see 11 marbles owed back to them. Sooner or later the non-existence of that eleventh marble will create a crises of faith. People will stop believing in the religion called private central banking, and that crisis of faith will bring the system crashing down, as did the Temple of Baal in ancient times when the Syrians saw through the priests' trickery. This evil magic of creating money out of debt was a fraud all along, as fraudulent and silly as the idea that one can put ten marbles into a tin can, and take out eleven.

In ages to come economists will look back at this failed experiment in debt-based currency, and dump it into the same category of human folly as Tulip mania, The Nation of Poyais, Credit Mobilier, the Great South Seas Company, and Mortgage-Backed Securities.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying A word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots.. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma the daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its insides became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean ? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution

Some years ago before I left South Africa I told people that the future of the world could possibly lie in the Bolivarian Revolution that was taking place in Venezuela.

This was after reading a comprehensive booklet from Venezuela that contained the Bolivarian Constitution, which I was given by the American Embassy (Consulate?) in Durban as an example of the sort of thing that was threatening the West and America.

It was whilst I was still with BCE (my Construction Insurance Company) ~ the Consulate was on the next floor to the Munich Reinsurance company and I chatted to a lady who worked at the Consulate in the lift. It was one of those synchronicity things that happen occasionally. It seemed that every time I visited Munich Re - several times a week in those days - she was either going down or coming up. She was a charming black woman from Augusta and we went for coffee a couple of times.

Anyway, after reading it I was intrigued, for everything it contained made sense. Taking one example - Prison Towns. This is in fact in the Old Testament, only called Cities of Refuge - see http://www.pbministries.org/books/pink/Gleanings_Joshua/joshua_18.htm .

"Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses: that the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood."

Our Group in Rhodesia actually drafted a Constitution based on the Bible teachings of the Pentateuch that we sent to the Government ~ I was at that time on National Executive of the ruling party ~ and this was included in it. I would love to be able to say that our Constitution was similar to the Bolivarian but cannot. I think, however, that it was pretty good. Of course, I am prejudiced towards it.

The concept of Cities of Refuge (Prison Towns) was ridiculed as unpractical. Our argument was that people would be able to provide a service to the community rather than be incarcerated at the expense of that same community: so I was thrilled to see this and other precepts within the BC. Since then, whenever I have supported the BC I have been ridiculed and told that Venezuela is a dictatorship etc. etc.

The Maltese Falconry Centre on Picasa - My Photos

This was possibly the most exciting visit we made.

We were overwhelmed by all there was to see and do in Malta and touring Gozo was amazing, The bus service was efficient; the guides were knowledgeable and the people were friendly and honest. The food was great. The weather perfect. This was somewhere I could go any time.

Then we decided to visit the Centre as a result of our visits to the Hawk Conservancy in Hampshire near Andover. This centre different but it is well worth the visit. Doreen and Rene are knowledgeable and love their birds. They have some good specimens and treat them well. Unlike the Hawk Conservancy they operate at a big disadvantage.

Whereas in Hampshire the local people on the whole love birds and wish to preserve them handing in injured birds that they come across, in Malta the local people are very much against birds, despite them being a protected species.

Whenever we went on Malta we were regaled with stories of the Maltese Falcon and how the rent levied by one ruler to a tenant ~ of the entire island ~ was a pair of bird per year. Yet the local farmers actively hunt them and shoot them whenever possible. What a shame.

It must be heart-breaking for Doreen and her family but she carries on.

Today's World and the Mayan Calendar

My good friend from Bosnia-Herzogowina sent me the following photographs.

I had seen them before but in the light of events in Iceland, Greece, North Africa, Albania, Yemen and the Sudan they stirred within me the desire to set out what I feel is happening today. So I wrote the following post. You see when his Email arrived I was watching the live Al Jazeera Feed from Cairo on the internet and thinking about how so much originated there and if what is happening there is the beginning of change in our world. You see, the photos emphasized the disparity that is prevalent all over the world between those who have and those who do not have.

These are my ideas and anyone is welcome to accept or reject them. I only ask, as I always do, that anyone reading my words think about and research them.

Our Earth has the ability to provide everyone with everything that anyone could possibly want. There is no need for anyone to be short of anything no matter how much anyone else has. There are more than enough resources for everyone. That is the Nature of this wonderful planet.

What has happened, though, is that the more that people have accrued over the millennia the more they have become convinced that they and only they must be able to control all resources. They even believe that the less fortunate and those who historically did not require huge amounts of those resources, should be deprived of anything more than the absolute necessities for fear that they would consume too much and thus prevent the wealthy from accruing what they felt they deserved.

Thus it was that the powerful believed that they were the “chosen few” and that everyone else was there merely to serve their every whim. This power became manifest through three facets – what may be called the Spear Points of the Trident of Power.

What then is this Trident of Power?

Firstly, let me consider the term “Conspiracy Theory,” lest what I write be dismissed as another such theory. The term conspire has two meanings – the first being “to agree together especially secretly to do something wrong or evil.” and the second simply “to act or work together toward the same goal or result.” In the UK it became a term in law with the first definition being used. The term Conspiracy Theory was first used apparently in 1909. The term “theory” relates, of course, to something that has no proof attached e.g. the Theory of Relativity. Thus by coupling the two words together as is done extensively today anything – whether with proof or without is delegated to the realms of speculation. The propounder of such “Theories” becomes a Theorist and is thus beneath rational consideration. In this way any argument, whether founded on facts or pure speculation may be dismissed without arguments being produced.

However, if we consider both meanings and look at our daily lives we will see that a conspiracy of some kind will govern what we do continually. Parents conspire to bring up their children, shops conspire with their staff to raise profits etc. In the English language there are so many words, usually imported from another language, as indeed the word conspire was, that describe any action or event, that this word has become a byword for what is believed to be an ages old movement that set out to enslave the world and to move all materials, resources and wealth into the hands of the few.

Anyone who takes the time to read what I write will be able to immediately dismiss the conclusions contained herein using the arguments I have mentioned above. However, this knee-jerk reaction has come about by the continued evolution of Earth, its systems and its languages. Such is the power of the spoken and written word that anything that sounds as if it took two or more people to collude in any action to accomplish it then it is dismissed as a Conspiracy Theory and is therefore untrue. According to the beliefs of today everything – and I mean everything – that effected the world and the way it operates came about purely by chance.

Coming back to the Trident of Power. What do I mean by this term? It originated in my mind to describe the forces that control the world today, although it existed in other ways before, usually to describe a simple three pronged spear wielded by Poseidon and Neptune. It is also used nowadays in computer games.

These two photos show the Mayan Pyramids with the details of the Underworlds superimposed. The article starts in the National Cycle and end today. I hope to show how the Mayan Calendar shows how the world has evolved over the millennia.

To me the Trident of Power came about over the past five thousand years or more as men (and here I use the words man and men to include women as well) sought to gain control over other men. Western man, in particular, has become imbued with a sense that they may only exist if they are subservient to some ruler. Initially the Man in Charge held his authority by the use of force. A tribal leader would enforce his will on his tribe by the force of his own stature and by the force of his own personality. He would then be looked up to by his followers and they would undertake virtually any task that he would demand of them. Over the centuries these leaders came to believe in their own destiny as a Leader by Right. As the Tribe became stronger and more numerous they sought ever more power and led their followers into battle against other tribes in their vicinity. Eventually the Tribe became a Nation. We are now in the National Cycle as shown in the graphic above; the 4^th level from the top. During this era Earth evolved from scattered tribes to organised Nations. The First Point of the Trident of Power – the use of force, the military, was firmly in place.

It was also during this era that those in power, who had relied mainly on brute force realised that it was a debilitating and expensive exercise to keep slaves, for instance, and to use the power of their armies to keep their slaves and subjects under control. At the same time the people enslaved or under such control began to become more and more restless and many revolts broke out in the various areas. Take Egypt as an example. There, the rulers, using force were building pyramids, albeit to copy existing ones that had been in the land for many thousands of years. They used their army of slave masters to force the slaves into working harder. The slaves were becoming more and more restless and output dropped off. Then one day a Priest of the Court of Pharaoh spoke to the ruler and proposed a radical solution.

“Why not release all the slaves, explaining to them that from now on they would no longer need to work.”

The Pharaoh was aghast, “But what about the monuments to my glory?” he asked. The Priest stilled his protest, “You will also explain that there is a downside,” he said, “Although the slaves no longer have to work, you, of course, will no longer feed or clothe them.”

At first the Pharaoh was pleased but then came a realisation. “Well, of course, I will save money there but I will still have to pay my slave-masters and feed them even though they do nothing. And my glorious monuments will still not get built.”

Once again the Priest stilled his protests. “Whilst that may be true on the surface,” he said, “in fact you will disband your slave driver force completely. So you will neither pay nor feed and house them.”

The Pharaoh was ecstatic. “Of course,” he agreed, “I wasn't thinking. “Wait a second, though, if I have no slave-masters, and no slaves, not only will my monuments never get built but I will have thousands of people starving to death whilst they suffer outside in the cold, the heat and the wet. They will revolt. The whole thing is ridiculous!”

The Priest was very calm. “Not at all,” he told the Pharaoh. “It is all in the way you spin it. You see, you will take the money you have paid out before and you will pay the slaves that money plus a little bit. The slave-masters you will make into foremen and pay them more than before.”

The Pharaoh wasn't convinced. “So, making them free will cost me,” he exclaimed in disgust.

“Not at all. You see, you will now charge them for their food and their shelter and they will then pay you back all you pay them to make for themselves a better life. And as you own all the food and all the land you can charge them what you like and even charge them for growing their own food and building their own shelter. And by giving production bonuses you can get them to work harder and more productively than ever before.”

And thus Economic Slavery came into being.

But there was another even more important and far reaching thing that came into force during this period. Until then in Egypt there were many and diverse gods. The Priests had some sway over the Pharaohs but they were, in effect, there to assist the Pharaoh who believed that they were actually gods themselves. From that time onwards the Priest wielded more and ever more power and influence until, as the Power of the Pharaohs waned and their power base moved from the Nile to the North and the West the Priest came to actually represent the gods. They put into effect a notion that Man was made after God's own image and then immediately re-made Him into an entity after Man's own image. They gave Him the authority, the attributes that they felt were desirable to meet with their ideas, their goals and their ambitions. Thus came into being the Second Spear Point of the Trident; the Ecclesiastical. By the end of this Era in 1755 almost every monarch had been convinced, as well as the priests of various churches, that they ruled by Divine Right; that they were appointed by an outside “God” who knew everything, saw everything and controlled everything. Even the glitch that several masters had caused in Palestine, in India, and elsewhere, had been changed to seem to reinforce the control exerted by the Churches. When one studies secular history before 1755 AD one can see how this control actually affected that history.

Many parts of the world were not under the influence of the Priests, for they had grown into power mainly in the West and the North. The Far East, Africa, Australia and the Americas belonged to indigenous races who worshipped their own Great Spirits, no matter what these were. In the few hundred years leading up to the new Planetary Underworld – the Era of Power – that started in 1755 Nations had started preparing for Global conquest. No longer were they content with just a country to run. Now they wanted to rule the entire world or as much as it as possible. In various Treaties the Catholic Church – the pre-eminent church of the times – allocated the land of other peoples to the various countries. They assumed that Earth belonged to their God and therefore as His representative on Earth they had this right. The Monarchs agreed and set out with great zeal. Much hardship for indigenous people resulted for, according to the Church, these people were less than human and therefore did not matter in the scheme of things.

Now came the beginnings of the Third Spear Point of the Trident of Power, Finance. In 1743 or 44 a child was born who was to shape the financial future of the world ~ one Mayer Amschel of Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Within the 18^th Century Amschel, now called Rothschild after his fathers pawnshop sign of a red shield was able to extend his banking facilities to include the crowned heads of most of Europe. It was he and his sons who started the Debt Money System that is in place today. There has been enough written about this system and all that bears repeating is that what the early American, Thomas Jefferson stated in the late 18^th and early 19^th Centuries has today come to pass. To recap then. The Trident of Power = Military Force, Finance and Ecclesiastical.

And where is each situated? Arguably ~ Finance = City of Westminster ~ Ecclesiastical = The Vatican and ~ Force = Washington DC

Please note that all three are City States within the host Nation. Don't take my word for it; look it up.

Hang on, I can hear you saying, that means that you are saying it is all a conspiracy theory.

Not at all. It is a THEORY, yes but...

To be a conspiracy that fits the definition at the beginning of the article there must be a group of people who thought this all out over six thousand years ago and then stuck to their ideas and plans, with modifications, over the millennia. That means that the one that most people refer to as God actually devised this entire scheme and kept it running.

Now I do not ascribe this "movement" to an external god who controls all we do. In Fact I cannot ascribe this to any god that allows the things that have happened over the millennia to so may people and still believe that such a god is loving and protective. I cannot believe that, at the last minute, some god powered cavalry will appear on the horizon and rescue only those who believe in him from a fate worse than death itself.

I can, however, ascribe such maneouvres to an internal source of energy that all mankind forms a part of and that Universal Consciousness is such that whatever Man does will be to the benefit of the Universe. However, I am not here to either destroy or criticise anyone's beliefs or to get into an argument over religion. This article perhaps will help to shed some light on to the reasons that things are happening today that seem to be shaping up into a catastrophe, whereas, I believe, those events are in fact not “bad” but “good.”

So let's tie the events into the Mayan Calendars.

Let us recap the Eras.

Starting about 5000 years ago in 3115 BC the National Underworld begins. The essence of this Era is the Law and during this period the rules and regulations that govern us today were initially laid down. Obviously these laws have changed and grown and evolved over the millennia.
Next comes the Planetary Underworld, beginning in 1755 AD and now we enter into the Era during which Power dominates. The Nations that came into being during the previous Underworld ~ bearing in mind that the Underworlds themselves overlap and all come to an end in October 2011 and thus elements continue to this day ~ were consolidated and strengthened.
The next Underworld, the Galactic, commenced in 1999 AD and this is one of amazing significance for during this period Ethics comes to dominate. Another thing that must be noted is that each Underworld lasts much longer than the following one. Reference to the second photograph will show you this shortening in detail. Note, however, that during each succeeding Underworld technology comes to light in an ever speeding up cycles. One only has to look at the first years of the 20^th century compared to the developments of the first year of the present century to see examples of this. The main thing to note here, though, is the exposure of all sorts of information that was concealed for millennia. In this regard the Internet has played a major role and although the Internet had its beginnings in the 'Sixties it is from 1999 AD that it became as open and freely available as it is today to so many people. Naturally, the more advanced Nations were the ones who were able to access it at first. As the Underworld progressed so the amount of information increased. All sorts of perfidy, concealed for so many years, was brought to the attention of the peoples of the world.
We are now in the final run up to the Universal Underworld. This starts on the 9^th March 2011 and the end of all the Underworlds comes on 28^th October 2011. This is the shortest and therefore the fastest developing of all the Eras or Underworlds that have occurred. This Underworld promises to change the consciousness of the peoples of the world in a most amazing and dynamic way. For during this Era people will be able to co-create with the Universe.
It must be borne in mind that the Mayan Calendar does NOT predict the future. Events are not mentioned other than as allegories and it has been this that has tended to confuse scholars of the calendars for many years. To describe the events not only in the past but also in the future the Mayans as well as most other ancient civilisations used “gods” to describe what was to happen. This practise allowed scholars from the so-called “civilised world” to call these ancient peoples pagans and other descriptions meant to denigrate them. I am indebted to Mayan Majix, who prepared the Pyramid Graphics, David Simpson of Belize, Ian Xel Lungold and Dr Carl Calleman, all of whom have shown me a tremendous amount of data in their works. The thing is that to understand this “co-creation one has to toss out all religious and church teachings that have been “accepted” and promulgated as fact for so many years. One must also question political systems, medical procedures and medicines, systems of electrical power, oil power, and much else that one today has been taught to believe is correct. I do not claim to know everything ~ in fact it is probable that I know nothing. All I can say to anyone is that it behoves everyone to question everything that they have ever learned.

But how does all this tie in to what is happening across the world? The clue is in the photos of Mugabe's Palace in Zimbabwe and the photos of his people living “in the gutter.”

So what is different from what has been happening all over Earth for millennia? My contention is ~ nothing. I have visited many areas of the world and seen many of the palaces that have been built in the past 5000 to 6000 years. From palaces in Nagoya, Japan, to Palaces in France and Britain. I have seen documentaries about Palaces in St Petersburg, Versailles, Beijing, London, America, north, central and south, other areas of Asia and Africa. All had one thing in common. They were built at a time when peasants in each country were treated as “non-humans” who were tolerated for the sweat of their brow.

I was asked to leave one stately home that belonged to the Rothschilds, “donated” to the nation but still used as a political meeting place hosted by the current head of the clan. The guide showed us around the halls and grand furniture, accoutrements etc. Previously, I had listened to a lecture from someone else that dealt with the stables. These are now the Souvenir Shop. The lecturer laughed and said that the staff who served the lords were not housed as well as the horses! Inside the Guide said that “This is our heritage. My family were in service in this house for many years.”

I queried her statement and asked if it was not a fact that her heritage was in the hovels that had now been demolished. She took exception and asked me to leave. As I had just visited the True Yard cottages in Kings Lynn in Norfolk the memory of the history of that area was fresh in my mind. Here is an extract of what happened there for hundreds of years ~ all within spitting distance of the Bishop's residence and his church.

This is what the "official" story is at what is now a museum:

“At one time father, mother and nine children lived here. The only bed upstairs slept all nine children - five at the top and four at the bottom. Mum and Dad slept on the floor with a curtain screening from the children. It is unusual to find a cooking range in such a small cottage - normally they would only have had a open fire to cook on and anything that needed baking would be taken to the North End bakery, and the baker would bake the food for a halfpenny. The floor was made of brick and when the men returned with the catch it would be shot on to the floor and the family would sort out the rubbish such as weeds, starfish etc before selling it. One can imagine the smell!”

If you look at everywhere, every country, you will find the same. However, it would seem that people have forgotten all about these times. Now every tinpot dictator is singled out as being beyond the pale yet most people will protest violently about what I have written. Amazingly, they are even more indignant when I state that the the current dictators are merely copying their teachers, those who colonised them over the years.

The Mainstream Media (MSM) are suggesting that the protests in Egypt originated in Tunisia in that the earlier protests were inspired from that country. The idea seems to be that this is a Muslim uprising and that if allowed to continue Radical Islam, whatever that is, will take over the Middle East. As ever Israel is made out to be the innocent party to all the troubles there.

The immediate or proximate cause might have been Tunisia but that is not where the world wide protests began.

Look at the First Spear ~ that of Military Might epitomised by the United States Military co-ordinated from Washington. Did you know that America now has well over 1000 bases world wide? That entire peoples have been dispossessed by the military moving in? That America is now in de facto control of 191 countries that are members of the United Nations? Did you ever think why it is that any country, such as Haiti, have free and fair elections and elect the man of their choice – Aristide – only to have him deposed and sent into exile? Why is it that that man when trying to return to Haiti to assist his people finds that America blocks his return?

What does one do against the might and power of the Americans? How does one fight them?

Next look at another Spear Point – the Ecclesiastical. Why is it that anywhere that Muslims are in power tends to be destabilised and the regime slandered and accused of all manner of human rights abuse. I am not claiming that Islam is completely innocent. Like everyone else they, too, have been subjected to all manner of brainwashing and manipulation. One only has to look at the Sudan, where a radical Islamic regime is supported by the Americans. Recently the South, which is predominantly Christian voted overwhelmingly, as much as 99%, for independence. Yet the South is the poorest region of the country. Look at the two maps that follow and see if THAT makes sense. After considering the first map showing the fertility, then look at the second one. That one will tell you why it is my opinion that 1: The South will never gain independence or 2: the Americans will install their own puppet.

This brings us on to the Third Point ~ Finance. And Finance includes Banking and of course Commodities such as oil.

And where was the first “uprising?” What about Iceland? The people of Iceland were told by their Government that they had to bail out their banks despite the reason being stupid investments from other countries many of which were from England. The Bankers were, many of them, domiciled in England and their main offices were based in London. The people were then to pay for something not of their making and for which they would never gain any benefit. They said a resounding “No!” The bankers failed and the government fell.

This was the first crack in the Debt Money System. In the States and Britain the Governments bailed out the Banks and the people didn't protest en masse. In Greece the people also rebelled and there are many signs that those protests will continue in the future. Other countries, Albania, Jordan, Yemen, all are getting into the same frame of mind.

Egypt, and I take my hat off to the Egyptians, are protesting against all odds. Note that the Americans seem to be changing their minds about who to support. The Israelis appear to be running scared and there are reports of proscribed weapons being shipped in to control the protesters. Proscribed is a nice word that means illegal! Saudi Arabia are just as scared. The IMF have come in with offers of help. If the Egyptians are to survive and better their lives then they MUST reject the Banker controlled IMF, for, it is claimed by many, that body consists of gangsters who rape and pillage the economies of every country they get involved with.

Is this the beginning of the change of consciousness, the awakening of people everywhere? If it is then is it not fitting that Egypt is the country where the world took notice, just as 5000 years ago it was the country that started the system on a wide world basis?

Ladies as Soccer Officials

The Offside Rule (in Football [soccer!]
I expect that most of the time no-one here who reads my posts enjoys or even knows anything about most Sports. However, this one is very serious. The Football Association of Britain (or England - not sure which) is now using ladies to act as Referees and Linesmen, (the ones who run up and down the lines waving a flag).

I am not sure why they don't call them lineswomen but it seems they don't. Now I have never seen a Football Match when ladies were involved although I did once see some ladies actually playing soccer. They seemed to be better at it than the average English male player but then I very rarely ever watch men playing.

Apparently this last weekend a lady failed to blow an offside - this seems to me that she should have blown a whistle and waved her flag - and a goal was scored! This is apparently something a man would never do. The Sky Sports guys said all sorts of things about the goal - I heard about this from the furore later - during the commentary but then, after they were off the air, said all sorts of things about women shouldn't be allowed to be in football.

I think that this might be because, as in a certain Church, only Men can run this Football Religion and therefore women are excluded.

Today I saw this article in the Daily Mash and thought I should share it.

As Sky Sports launched some dreary investigation into the brains of Andy Gray and Richard Keys, experts said it would be impossible for a woman to not understand the offside rule because it is one of the rules of football.

Professor Henry Brubaker, of the Institute for Studies, said: "Of all the non-American sports, football is easily the most childishly simple.

"This is not Fermat's Last Theorem. It is a game designed specifically for low-grade morons who have to be told when to go to the toilet.

"Claiming you don't understand the offside rule is just one of those things people say at parties, because if they really didn't understand it they would be either a potato or a bar of soap."

My series of articles regarding the bee and it;s problems, that have now been changed into challenges by individuals and groups of people all over the world, has stalled. My Laptop went on the blink and this delayed my writing. The Spotlight shines on "Help Save Bees"

Today I am turning the Spotlight onto this site first for it is from here that I found a route to another site that I will expand on in my next article.

Save the Bees was compiled by and is run by Damian Grounds who set up the site after reading about the plight of the bee in the Sunday Times Magazine. It is designed to help raise Everyman's awareness on the plight of British Bees. It also highlights the simple things that everyone in Britain can do to help just a little bit by establishing a better habitat that will sustain the bee.

Although obviously directed at the British public the information contained therein and also generated by the organisation it supports may be used in any country of the world: for the bee is vital all over the world; from Peru to Bosnia, from Oregon to Japan and from Denmark to South Africa.

In the site there are “10 Things YOU can do to help save bees.” Each of these is linked to other sites that expand on the idea. It is intended that each of these will be featured in due course by articles that will publicise them and the work they do.

Almost all of what I am writing about has already been worked on by experts in their field and by men such as Damian who can see the benefits to mankind of raising the awareness of people to the plight of the bees and, even more important, providing solutions. I am in no way trying to steal their thunder, I am in fact hoping that my small contribution will allow that thunder to reverberate around the globe.

Return of the Bee!

After a wonderful Holiday Season with two daughters and my eldest granddaughter I have found it difficult to get back to work! In contrast to the Good Times there is also the Bad.

My youngest's shop was robbed with her being threatened by a knife wielding yobbo which is still bugging her and me. At home the central heating broke down when it was needed most. As anyone who has read my earlier posts will know I am a Hot Weather type of person! All this is, of course, an excuse for being lazy!

Enough! Now is the time to get stuck in.
.
As we move from the Galactic Underground to the Universal Underground on Mar 9th this means that the next 260 days will reflect the enlightenment period that in 260 days will equal the previous 12 years or so of the Galactic Underground. That is; the speed of intrinsic development; of the raising of consciousness; of awakening of people; will increase. If one looks back simply at the intrinsic development that took place over the past 12 years ~ since Jan 1999 ~ one sees that this was incredibly more than occurred during the Planetary Underground of the Mayan Calendar that commenced in 1755; a period of 244 years Gregorian.

So imagine if you will the increase of knowledge that will occur this year!

However that is not the subject of my thinking. The main thing that I believe will happen is that more and more people will become more and more enlightened.

Whilst the Planetary Underworld was one of the establishment of POWER ~ is it a coincidence that the first Rothschild (contrary to popular belief he took his name from the Red Shield that was the symbol of the Pawnbroker in his native Germany - the equivalent in England, so I am led to believe would be Brass Balls) was born in 1744? And that control of Finance and the establishment of the Debt Money System was established throughout the Planet by the end of this Underworld in 1999? That the establishment of the Military Wing of the Empire was established in 1776? ~ the Galactic Underworld saw the return or rather ascendancy of Ethics. The last twelve years have witnessed an amazing exposure of all sorts of manipulations, of government, personal and corporate shenanigans.

Now we have reached the period when Co-creation takes place. And Co-creation, with the Universe, needs the independent cohesion of like minds. There are millions of people who are now thinking alike. In Russia alone the Anastasia books, the Ringing Cedar Series, sold over ten million copies without any advertising. Millions more are reading and following the teachings - independently - all over the world.

Jerry and Esther Hicks have been teaching the Wisdom of Abraham for more than 20 years. I understand that their following now is in the millions.

Both show what Co-creation is all about. It relies on the independent cohesion of the many people who understand the truths contained therein. No organisation just individuals all doing the right thing!

With this Co-creation comes a tremendous responsibility for if one looks at the amazing intrinsic developments of the last 60 years; chemicals, medicine, power, transportation, communication, the list goes on; one finds that while there are incredible benefits for humanity each benefit is balanced by apparent damage to our planet. And almost all of this has been due to humanity's dependence on finance and, in particular, the Debt Money System, the control of the issuing of money by the Central Banks, owned by the Private Banks almost completely, which lend that money to the Governments who have to raise taxes to pay off the loans, never quite managing to do this without ever more borrowing.

So... Co-creation MUST take into account that, although it expands the Universe and Man (I use the term Man which includes both men and women) it must also be tempered by love for our planet, as we call it, Earth.

There are many, many things that need to be re-aligned.

The first of these that I have decided to concentrate on, in conjunction with my friends and colleagues in Australia, (more about them later on) is the plight of the bee.

I do not propose to dwell on the causes of the decline of bee numbers. Suffice to mention just a few: these are - the CCD (an acronym for Colony Collapse Disorder; ~ reduce everything to initials is the trend) - Electromagnetic Radiation; (cell phone towers, broadcasting and so on) - Chemical poisoning ~ specifically pesticides - and GM Crops (another acronym!) If you want to learn more then simply Google any of the terms I have used. there are literally thousands of Bee Disaster Sites on the internet.

All seem to be spreading a Doomsday Outlet of Fear!

What I will attempt to do is to put together a series of articles on the POSITIVE work that is being done ~ and there is a great deal going on by as yet unsung heroes in this endeavour ~ to return this planet back to its origins of perfection.

I sincerely hope that you will join in with my puny efforts to spread this message of LOVE and HOPE, not only for our Bee Friends but also for all Man, all humanity, all life on Earth.

Ko'ox tun ~ Let us get going ~ at last! The year ahead.

Ever since I visited Belize I started changing my own consciousness and ideas for living. That was four years ago and much water has flowed beneath the bridge. I wrote my book Beacon of Hope, dealing with the Toledo Province of Belize and the Peoples Eco Park Plan, formulated by the people of the Province. The precepts I learned about whilst writing that book set the tone for later ideas and these have been developing apace.

Since my last visit the world has apparently changed and, of course, our perception of the world had also changed.

The past four years have been accompanied by an immense learning curve by all of us involved in what I call the Ko'ox Tun Project though it is being developed under another name in Australia. Much of what I have been doing is to establish a web presence for both my pseudonym, Ralpapajan, and the phrase Ko'ox Tun. This latter phrase is pronounced “kush tun” and means, literally, “Let's get going.”

It has long been my belief that all of us must change our consciousness, must rely on our own instincts and ideas rather than rely on an outside source to solve our problems, or rather, to meet our challenges. The consciousness of abundance of whatever nature must precede the manifestation of that abundance.

The new Gregorian year of 2011 is almost upon us. The Mayan Calendars in their cycles reveal to us that the Shift of the Ages, will shortly occur. This has been misrepresented by many, especially the Hollywood film industry and the Main Stream Media as a harbinger of doom. In their normal way the money makers, the multi-nationals etc. are manipulating the thoughts of Man by using fear as the motive to buy their products, to fall in line with their ideas, and so on.

We cannot change anyone's ideas other than our own. We can only show how we have changed our thoughts and tell people what those thoughts are. This will be the thrust of this Blog from now onwards.

I am currently working on a series of articles ready for publication on and after the 1^st January that fits in with my own new direction. I hope that everyone keeps on reading here.

Tweaking my Blog ~ Making it easier to read for the Visually Impaired

I have had a comprehensive report compiled telling me how my Blog shapes up.

The first thing I read was that my Blog Title was too long so I shortened it.

Next came the fact that my Blog is not PC Compliant. I have changed things a bit and hopefully this is an improvement for those who are short-sighted or partially sighted.

Colours are important so I have changed them a bit. The Blog description has now changed. I am not sure I like the orange but we'll see about that. Possibly light blue might be better.

Lastly, apparently I haven't been putting tags and/or labels on my posts - I must correct that.

Doing her best dance.

In an amazing swing of voters that would have meant a complete overturning of the Government ~ even the Lib Dems would have won with this percentage change in the votes cast ~ she was "voted" off by viewers.

She will appear on the Strictly Come Dancing Tour around Britain and no doubt will be seen on the BBC hopefully as a Comedian but probably as an Interviewer.

61 year old Pamela Stephenson ~ wife of Comedian Billy Connolly ~ was give 4 tens on her birthday with husband in the audience. That is the second video. Dancing aficioanados should remember that she has only been dancing for about 8 weeks and that this is an entertainment show not a professional ballroom dancing competition.

In South Africa ~ Pt 2

Well then. It is 06h00 on this snowy morning on Mudd Island. The radio is announcing which schools are closed due to the snow. Train bulletins - the Gatwick trains are suspended and the Airport closed. Makes it easier to think of Randburg in Gauteng on a fine late winter morning.

This post today will be a Photo Blog and you will see the clear blue African skies. But... look at the security systems in place and imagine what it is like to automatically lock the gates and doors, to always look out through bars. And bear in mind that this Unit is within a secure complex behind high walls and an electrified and alarmed fence with an Armed Response Unit on call 24 hours per day!

Is it the vibrational energy that is out of kilter; an acceptance of what is perceived as reality that has caused this consciousness of insecurity to become manifest? If the wealthier South Africans, who feel the need to live behind the bars like the animals enclosed within the Pretoria and Johannesburg Zoos, were to change their thinking and think only positive thoughts of what they really want, rather than thinking negatively of what they in fact do not want; would that vibration of insecurity, of fear, change to become one of security and love for all, irrespective of race, colour, social position and creed?

It certainly struck me that most South Africans I met certainly do fear their own environment and constantly beat the drum of the negative events that are reported in the mass media every day. A change of Consciousness to a Vibration of Positivity is certainly needed there.

Of course, this only is my opinion.

It snowed again last night!

The snow came down again. More than the last fall. I got up early to see my youngest off to work at 05h00. She walks a mile or so to the shop she helps run. It opens at 06h00 and she is there to receive the dailies. I took the opportunity of taking some not very good photos of the front and back gardens. Here they are. Enjoy, especially if you are in Okinawa, Durban, Perth, WA or elsewhere in the sun.

In my last post about my trip to South Africa I had just been met by Mike Larkin ~ a wonderful friend who sponsored the entire trip, which I really appreciate. I had hoped to continue posting but was unable to as will become clear if you carry on reading.

Everyone sees life through their own perspective. Things that matter to you will be noticed, others will fade into the background. If you love motor cars, for instance, but are totally switched off by the natural world, everywhere you look on the roads you will see the latest models, the the classics of your youth etc. etc. Trees and shrubs, flowers, birds and butterflies will be almost non-existent.

This is especially true when you visit a country. If you happen to travel almost exclusively on potholed, bumpy roads with puddles of water, when you return home you will probably tell people all about the bad roads and equate them to the standard condition of the country as a whole.

Those people living in a country will be conditioned to see life as they perceive it and will only see what is in their consciousness. The person who earns a good income, drives the latest motor car and lives in an upmarket suburb will find it difficult to see the same country as the pauper living in a squatter camp.

So it was when I arrived. I was last there some three years ago ~ BWC (Before the World Cup) and the changes I noticed all stood out. Improved Airport Facilities ~ not that well designed nor sign posted but cosmetically a great improvement ~ bigger, faster and smoother trunk roads, big stadia and so on.

The greatest change though, to me, was in the attitude of the staff at the Airport. Whereas on my last trip the Immigration or Border Control Officials had been surly and "hard done by" this time they were open and friendly. The customs staff simply waved me through, whereas last time they had asked far too many unnecessary questions. Traders inside the airport where friendly and we exchanged bantering comments about my leather hat, veteran of dozens of trips in a variety of countries, whereas last time they were surly and almost unpleasant.

Was it me? My own attitude? That must have had a lot to do with it.

Once we arrived in Randburg, to the north of the O.R Tambo Airport, I saw the down-side, to me, of living in the Gauteng area. High walls surrounding large houses set in big gardens and with Armed Response signs on Electrified Fences.

As we drove through the Electrically Controlled gates into the complex where I was to live with Mike the "laager mentality" that was once a catchword phrase to describe White South Africans came to mind.

A huge gate controlled by an electric motor and remote keying system slowly opened. Mike drove through and, once his car was clear, stopped to allow the gate to slide to. "Just in case" thieves slipped in whilst it was open. I had visited and stayed with him here before but the shock to my system, even though there had been little change there in the intervening few years, was manifest.

My perspective perhaps had changed since my months in Central America where people left their bakkies (pick-up trucks) outside their flats in the street with thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment on them; even England with its comparatively high crime rate but with an absence of bars on windows and no alarms, at least where I live, must have influenced me; Burlington in Canada, where I saw a man "reserve" a table in a supermarket coffee bar by throwing his wallet and car keys onto a table right next to the exit before going around to get his coffee and bagel; a Cultural village in Takayama in Japan, where my daughter left her daughter's push chair piled high with jackets and other valuables on the path because the the way we were walking was too steep with steps to allow push chair access ~ we returned three hours later to find the push-chair untouched except that it had been moved into the shade; all these experiences had changed my outlook.

Ann Widdecombe on Strictly Come Dancing ~ UK

Each year the BBC trot out the Show ~ Strictly Come Dancing ~ where, just as in America's Dancing with the Stars, they take a dozen "celebrities" ~ sportsmen and women, actors, actresses and others, and with some very talented Professional Trainers try to turn them in a few short weeks into accomplished Ballroom and Latin American dancers. The show has been going on for some years now and viewing figures have dropped drastically during that time.

Usually the producers invite a few people who simply do not have either the ability or the body to become a dancer, thus, it seems to me, allowing someone to be kicked out early and someone to be laughed AT.

This year there were a couple of Sportsmen ~ one past his prime and the other a shy introvert. There were also three ladies almost as old as I with two of them being grand-mothers.

Predictably the retired sportsman fell an an early hurdle. The other could be playing for his country in the not too distant future and, due to his physique, exposed as often as possible, has acquired a large fan base.

Now I come to the third lady ~ retired Government Cabinet Minister Ann Widdecombe.

And here is the interesting part. Ann cannot dance. Ann is the wrong shape. Ann is not young and glamorous but Ann has raised the numbers of those viewing Strictly to nearly 13 million. Was this what the BBC wanted when they invited her? Judging by the comments from the head judge, Len Goodman, it was not. Unlike a prior similar figure ~ John Sargeant ~ who was just as bad a dancer and who left because he thought he might win, Ann has vowed to go all out for victory. Week after week the viewers vote her on.

You see Ann has the ordinary people of the country ~ apart from those few "Dancing Aficionados" who actually believe that this is a Dancing Competition rather than an item of Entertainment- something it tends to have lost in latter years ~ watching her and laughing WITH her. Every week we see the dancing wannabes working like mad and dancing their hearts out to gain the coverted trophy and doing so extremely well. But when it comes to the Ann Widdecombe dance you anticipate a great deal more ~ you expect to laugh!

For here is a couple of minutes of old fashioned good clean fun. No smut. No "raunchy" half naked female bodies (and male) being exposed accompanied by salacious "bumps and grounds" at peak viewing time as an example to the young girls and boys who watch the show of how to behave.

Ralpapajan's Guy Fawkes' Night ~ On Picasa!

On 5th November 1605 three men ~ Catholics all ~ named Thomas Percy, Robert Catesby and Guido or Guy Fawkes were caught apparently trying to blow up Parliament with the King, James 1 ~ the same King who sponsored the King James Bible translation ~ inside.

Was this an attempt by the men themselves or were they merely dupes of Lord Robert Cecil, the Earl of Salisbury and of the Viennese Intelligence, the Counsellor to the King? Was this in fact what is called today a “False Flag” black operation? The King was perhaps not dealing with Catholics as harshly as some wanted so could it be that the “Gunpowder Plot” was designed to make him become harsher?

Interestingly it was apparently Lord Cecil who informed the King of the plot, possibly claiming receipt of an anonymous tip. If Fawkes ~ a Catholic ~ was persuaded to do the deed then he could be a “patsy” or “fall-guy”, one of many that followed. He helped to invent a pretext for war with Spain. Indeed, if this entire plot was a fraud then it could be said to be the foundation of the British Empire. Is this a Foundation to be proud of?

When the conspirators ~ yes, it was a Conspiracy ~ were discovered two of them, excluding Fawkes, were killed on the spot. The other, the alleged ring leader, Guy Fawkes, was incarcerated in the Tower of London and tortured over several days, with permission from the King ~ yes the same king that believed that a Bible was for Everyman and who, one supposes, was a devout Christian. Him being Head of the Church founded 70 years or so before.

On 31st January 1605 Guy was tried at Westminster Hall, together with some others, no doubt after giving out their names under torture. (Seems a familiar story today, does it not?) Found guilty they were taken to The Old Palace Yard, Westminster ~ you know the one, it is just a few yards to the east of the now 700 year old Westminster Abbey, the Christian church where all the Christian Kings and Queens of England are crowned. Here he was to be “hung, drawn and quartered”. Guy evaded the full punishment by jumping from the scaffold and breaking his neck. Tut! Tut! How very inconsiderate of him.

Wikipedia has this to say: 'The Sir Edward Coke, Attorney General told the court that each of the condemned would be drawn backwards to his death, by a horse, his head near the ground. They were to be "put to death halfway between heaven and earth as unworthy of both". Their genitals would be cut off and burnt before their eyes, and their bowels and hearts removed. They would then be decapitated, and the dismembered parts of their bodies displayed so that they might become "prey for the fowls of the air".' Sounds pretty gruesome especially as those passing judgement were a part of the establishment in a religious system.

Wikipedia continues, however: 'On 31st January 1606, Fawkes and three others – Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwood, and Robert Keyes – were dragged from the Tower on wattled hurdles to the Old Palace Yard at Westminster, opposite the building they had attempted to destroy. His fellow plotters were hanged, drawn and quartered. Fawkes was the last to stand on the scaffold. He asked for forgiveness of the King and state, while keeping up his "crosses and idle ceremonies", and aided by the hangman began to climb the ladder to the noose. Although weakened by torture, Fawkes managed to jump from the gallows, breaking his neck in the fall and thus avoiding the agony of the latter part of his execution.'

The explosive to be used was Corn Flour. This is quite interesting and should be investigated if you want to learn more.

So this, then, is what we celebrate each year in English origin countries. The torture of several men who were then put to death as gruesomely as possible. And does anyone care? No!

The thing is that today all anyone sees and remembers are the pretty fireworks and the smell of the bonfire. We cannot change history just as we cannot change anyone else's mind or thinking. All we can do is to change our own thinking and raise our own consciousness.

This is one sign of the complete domination of the Main Stream Media over events that occur. The immediate assumption by millions of Sports Lovers or Pakistan Haters world wide that the News of the World and the man at the centre of the Match fixing scandal in the world of cricket are correct; and that the 4 players he names after receiving £150 000 from a newspaper that is at best, in my opinion, a rag are guilty.

What happened to that much touted, especially by the British, precept "Innocent until proven guilty"?

What happened to the similar allegations levelled by the same newspaper against Snooker Champion John Higgins? That episode seems to have disappeared into the woodwork. What happened to the morality of what is claimed, by themselves of course, the finest and most unbiased newspapers and broadcasters in the world?

This, to me, is yet another episode of a Main Stream Media that is controlled by a few oligarchs showing off their power to indicate to people that THEY are all-powerful, whilst at the same time, keeping the minds of the public off the real news, the important news that effects us all.

Monday 26 July 2010 The Trip Over

The journey down to Heathrow from Basingstoke after Adrian, Jacquie and Sandra left was remarkable mainly for its lack of incident. I can understand why people who are not computer literate get confused. Maybe a booklet in simple terms could be made available for them.

At Reading I decided to go down to the Railair Lounge to buy a ticket – a wise decision as it turned out – for I was over 30 minutes early for the coach I had selected to take me to Heathrow, rather buying my ticket from a machine. The guy down there was a new-comer to me although there were two others whom I knew slightly.

When I proffered my card for the machine it was rejected, which caused me a momentary qualm. The chappie was trying to stop the earlier coach so I could get to it. With the card being declined this was of course not possible. He fetched another machine and I told him that I worked at the FGW ticket office at one time. It took a further 5 minutes to initiate the new machine – a driver's model – and he then decided that as I had missed my coach – which I didn't want to catch anyway – I had been inconvenienced and discounted the price to that of the Geriatric Ticket Holder's price. This was a saving of £5.45!

The drive down was also uneventful although we either passed a silver Bentley with the last 3 letters VRO three times or we passed 3 Bentleys with the same letters on their plates. At Terminal 5 the route took us through the buildings and I must admit that they are impressive.

Arriving at Terminal 3 I was now two hours ahead of schedule for, having booked in online and already in possession of a Boarding Pass I only needed to be there 45 minutes or so before take off. Lugging the case and the backpack around was a nause so I went to the Bag Drop off counter to check in the case – twelve kgs – and then go somewhere for coffee. The very charming Spanish girl at the counter informed me that there was a strike of air traffic controllers and this had delayed my flight for at least an hour, perhaps longer. Once again serendipity had come to my rescue. There were a couple of seats available on an earlier flight and as I was the first person to check in she allocated one to me. “Best that rather than miss your connecting flight,” she told me.

The earlier flight, supposed to be leaving at 17h35 finally took off at 18h20 some 30 minutes after the original flight was supposed to leave. As ever luck seemed to be on my side when I travel. I went through the Security also well before time and here the only untoward event of the journey took place. I was wearing my money belt and took it off at the barrier. As the guy checked it the buckle swung below the table. It caught on something and, instead of releasing it, he yanked it up, tearing the buckle from the belt, just giving me a shrug as he put it back in the tray.

As I went through the barrier it screeched. I had been watching the belt and had left loose change in my jeans. I was hauled out of the queue and searched, having to take my boots off and these were handed to another guy. I then had to place my feet, one at a time, onto a raised platform. When I asked why the guy just said, “Because I said so”. He then told me to empty my jeans pockets and this I did as well. Two hand kerchiefs and then the handful of coins. I showed him and he became quite cross. “Don't do anything unless I tell you to!”

At this I had had enough. I raised myself up, looked down my nose at him and said quietly, “If you were paying attention you would recall that you asked me to empty my pockets. I was showing you what I had in them.”

He looked at me and I just stared at him – glared maybe? - anyway, he looked away and then gestured me to carry on.
I picked up the two trays but no boots. My jeans were loose so I took over a chair and tried to fix it. No go. So I finished sorting out everything and put on my jacket. Then I went to find my boots – they had been put aside, presumably because of the insert. I just looked at the girl at the table, daring her to say anything, picked them up an checked them and walked off. She just watched me. I assume that I was now vibrating at a rate that intimidated her.

I did say that this wasn't an untoward incident and this I believe as, 1. I had to change my belt buckling system, which I did at Mike's and it works in a much better way, and 2. I felt completely in control of the Security staff and was able to intimidate them without shouting or leaving the moral high-ground. I think that in fact I was just the 1 in 10 passenger that they randomly pick.

At Heathrow I bought a big bottle of water that was on special at less than the price of the smaller bottles. I knew from my experience in Paris that I would have to buy more water in Madrid plus I wanted some deodorant and would have to go through Security again.

There were a whole bunch, about 5000 or so school kids waiting at the gate and they boarded first. When I got to my seat I found that I was seated in the midst of about 500 girls aged from 15 to about 17. They were very well behaved and apart from the odd calling to a mate a mile or so away were quite quiet.

We took off and all was very peaceful. Then the Fasten Seat Belts sign was switched off and pandemonium broke loose. I was on the aisle and the two girls next to me immediately jumped up and would have climbed over me except that I realised what was happening and jumped up first.

From then on and for the next twelve or so hours there was unceasing noise and chatter that sounded like a conference of Shona Umfaans at a market place. At last we arrived in Madrid and they all went back to their seats. I sat back and closed my eyes allowing the noise to subside to a muted roar that resembled the cry of a thousand vuvuzelas at sunset. We touched down and there was a sudden spontaneous outbreak of applause and clapping. I thought at first that it was a celebration of the youngsters safe return to Spain, but on reflection believe that it was the other passengers applauding the potential end of their ordeal.

Now came an interesting event. Anyone with transit tickets had to stay seated. Then we all left by the rear door, down some steps to a bus. This took us to a different part of the airport.

I ditched the water I hadn't drunk and went off to find my gate and security before having a bite to eat. Oops! We were behind security. Only one shop selling food was open – and no water or a chemist in sight!

When I booked my seat online I chose an aisle seat next to the galley and toilets. This paid off. I was able to just walk around the partition to get as much water as I wanted, and I had a luggage compartment to myself. In fact it was a good flight all round only marred by the Spaniards propensity to sleep. We had dinner - the site said NO DINNER - at 01h30 and then the lights went out. I woke as usual to 06h00 WET (07h00 Zulu.) and was full of the joys of spring. Everyone else started waking up at 09hooZulu and then came the rush to the loos. For two hours I had had the whole galley etc to myself. At 09h30Zulu they served a sort of breakfast with super coffee and we landed on time.

I was not the first to get off but was one of the first at Passport Control. The young girl was very efficient, I told her she was, and she re-instated my Resident's Permit that had been cancelled three years ago. The bag took forever but I didn't see Customs so not sure if I went out the right way.

Dear World Cup visitors,

Now that you are safely in our country you are no doubt happily realising you are not in a war zone. This may be in stark contrast to what you have been bracing yourself for should you have listened to Uli Hoeness or are an avid reader of English tabloids, which as we all know are only good for wrapping fish 'n chips and advancing the careers of large-chested teens on page three.

As you emerge blinking from your luxury hotel room into our big blue winter skies, you will surely realise you are far more likely to be killed by kindness than by a stray bullet. Remember that most of the media reports you have read, which have informed your views on South Africa, will have been penned by your colleagues. And you know what journos are like, what with their earnest two thousand word opuses on the op-ed pages designed to fix this country's ills in a heartbeat. Based on exhaustive research over a three-day visit.

Funnily enough, we are well aware of the challenges we face as a nation and you will find that 95% of the population is singing from the same song-sheet in order to ensure we can live up to our own exacting expectations.

We are also here to look after you and show you a good time. Prepare to have your preconceived notions well and truly shattered.

For instance, you will find precious few rhinos loitering on street corners,we don't know a guy in Cairo named Dave just because we live in Johannesburg, and our stadiums are magnificent, world-class works of art.

Which is obviously news to the Sky TV sports anchor who this week remarked that Soccer City looked ' a bit of a mess'. She didn't realize the gaps in the calabash exterior are to allow in natural light and for illumination at night, and not the result of vandalism or negligence.

The fact that England, the nation which safely delivered Wembley Stadium two years past its due date, is prepared to offer us South Africans advice on stadium-readiness should not be surprising. The steadiest stream of World Cup misinformation has emanated from our mates the Brits over the past couple of
years.

If it's not man-eating snakes lurking in Rooney's closet at the team's (allegedly half-built) Royal Bafokeng training base, then it's machete-wielding gangs roaming the suburbs in search of tattooed, overweight Dagenham dole-queuers to ransack and leave gurgling on the pavement.

In fact what you are entering is the world's most fascinating country, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure you will find that it functions far more smoothly, is heaps more friendly and offers plenty more diversions than you could possibly have imagined.

In addition to which, the population actually acts like human beings, and not like they are being controlled by sinister forces from above which turns them into bureaucratically-manipulated robots.

Plus we have world's most beautiful women. The best weather. Eight channels of SuperSport. Food and wine from the gods themselves. Wildlife galore. (Love the Dutch team's bus slogan: "Don't fear the Big 5; fear the Orange 11").

Having said all that, Jo'burg is undoubtedly one of the world's most dangerous cities. Just ask those Taiwanese tourists who got out of their hire car to take close-up snaps of tawny beasts at the Lion Park a few years back. Actually, ask what's left of them. And did you know the chances of being felled by cardiac arrest from devouring a mountain of meat at one of our world class restaurants has been statistically proven to be 33.3% higher in Jozi than in any other major urban centre not built upon a significant waterway? It's true. I swear. I read it in a British tabloid.

Having recently spent two years comfortably cocooned in small town America, I'm only too aware of how little much of the outside world knows about this country. The American channel I used to work for has a massive battalion of employees descending on World Cup country. It has also apparently issued a recommendation to its staff to stay in their hotels when not working.

Given that said corporation is headquartered in a small town which many say is "best viewed through the rear-view mirror", I find the recommendation, if it's true, to be utterly astounding. In fact I don't believe it is true. Contrary to the global stereotype, the best Americans are some of the sharpest people in the world. The fact they have bought most tickets in this World Cup proves the point.

Of course I have only lived in Johannesburg, city of terror and dread, virtually all my life, so don't have the in-depth knowledge of say, an English broadsheet journalist who has been in the country for the weekend, but nevertheless I will share some of my observations gleaned over the years.

Any foreign tourist or media representative who is worried about his safety in South Africa should have a word with the Lions rugby fans from last year, or the Barmy Army cricket supporters (lily-white hecklers by day, slurring, lager-fuelled lobsters by night). They managed just fine, just like the hundreds of thousands of fans who have streamed into the country over the past fifteen years for various World Cups, Super 14 matches, TriNations tests and other international events. Negligible crime incidents involving said fans over said period of time.

Trivia question: which country has hosted the most global sporting events over the past decade and a half? You don't need me to answer that, do you?

In addition. Don't fret when you see a gaggle of freelance salesmen converge on your car at the traffic lights (or robots as we like to call them) festooned with products. You are not about to be hijacked. Here in Mzansi (nickname for SA) we do a lot of our purchasing at robots. Here you can stock up on flags, coat hangers, batteries, roses for the wife you forgot to kiss goodbye this morning and a whole host of useful merchandise.

Similarly, that guy who runs up as you park the rental car outside the pub intends no malice. He's your car guard. Give him a buck or two and your vehicle will be safe while you refuel for hours on our cheap, splendid beer. Unless someone breaks into it, of course.

We drive on the left in this country. Exercise caution when crossing the road at a jog-trot with 15 kilograms of camera gear on your back. Exercise common sense full stop. Nothing more. Nothing less. If you want to leave wads of cash in your hotel room like our Colombian friends, don't be surprised if it grows wings.

Bottom line. Get out there and breathe in great lusty lungfuls of this amazing nation. Tuck into our world-class food and wines. Disprove the adage that
white men can't dance at our throbbing, vibrant night-clubs. Learn to say
hello in all eleven official languages. Watch at least one game in a township. You will not be robbed and shot. You will be welcomed like a lost family member and looked after as if you are royalty. Ask those Bulls rugby fans who journeyed to Soweto recently.

With a dollop of the right attitude, this country will change your life.

It's Africa's time. Vacate your hotel room. Join the party.

Waka waka eh eh.

KWAZULU NATAL ( SOUTH AFRICA ) CURRY CONTEST - 2007

If you can read this whole story without laughing then there's no hope for you. I was crying by the end. Note: Please take time to read this slowly; really slowly. Stand up between courses and walk around.

For those of you who haven’t lived in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, this is a typical Indian Competition. The Indian Community of South Africa is the largest outside India. They have a Curry Cook-off competition in June/July. It takes up a major portion of a parking lot at the Royal Show grounds in Pietermaritzburg. You will see the Royal Show in my photos in ~

South African Indian Curries are incredible. Indians in South Africa, however, do like them to be hot.

Judge #3 was an inexperienced food critic named Frank, who was visiting from America’

Frank: "Recently, I was honoured to be selected as a judge at a Curry Cook-off. The original person called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking for directions to the Beer Garden when the call came in. I was assured by the other two judges (Natal Indians) that the curry wouldn't be all that spicy and, besides, they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted".

Here are the scorecard notes from the event:

CURRY # 1 - SEELAN'S MANIAC MONSTER TOMATO CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- A little too heavy on the tomato. Amusing kick.

Judge # 2 -- Nice smooth tomato flavour. Very mild.

Judge # 3 (Frank) -- Holy shit, what the hell is this stuff? You could remove dried paint from your driveway. Took me two beers to put the flames out. I hope that's the worst one. These people are crazy.

CYRRY #2 - PHOENIX BBQ CHICKEN CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- Smoky, with a hint of chicken. Slight chilli tang.

Judge # 2 -- Exciting BBQ flavour, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.

Judge # 3 -- Keep this out of the reach of children. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich manoeuvre! They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my face.

CURRY # 3 - SHAMILA'S FAMOUS "BURN DOWN THE GARAGE" CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- Excellent firehouse curry. Great kick.

Judge # 2 -- A bit salty, good use of chilli peppers.

Judge # 3 -- Call 911. I've located a uranium pill. My nose feels like I have been snorting Drain Cleaner. Everyone knows the routine by now. Get me more beer before I ignite. Barmaid pounded me on the back, now my backbone is in the front part of my chest. I'm getting pissed from all the beer.

CURRY # 4 - BABOO'S BLACK MAGIC BEAN CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- Black bean curry with almost no spice. Disappointing.

Judge # 2 -- Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or other mild foods, not much of a curry.

Judge # 3 -- I felt something scraping across my tongue, but was unable to taste it. Is it possible to burn out taste buds? Shareen, the beer maid, was standing behind me with fresh refills. That 200kg woman is starting to look HOT...just like this nuclear waste I'm eating! Is chilli an aphrodisiac?

CURRY # 5 LALL'S LEGAL LIP REMOVER...

Judge # 1 -- Meaty, strong curry. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding considerable kick. Very impressive.

Judge # 2 -- Average beef curry, could use more tomato. Must admit the chilli peppers make a strong statement.

Judge # 3 -- My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off my forehead and I can no longer focus my eyes. I farted and four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chilli had given me brain damage. Shareen saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I'm burning my lips off. It really pisses me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming. Screw them.

CURRY # 6 - VERISHNEE'S VEGETARIAN VARIETY...

Judge # 1 -- Thin yet bold vegetarian variety curry. Good balance of spices and peppers.

Judge # 2 -- The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic. Superb.

Judge # 3 -- My intestines are now a straight pipe filled with gaseous, sulphuric flames. I am definitely going to shit myself if I fart and I'm worried it will eat through the chair. No one seems inclined to stand behind
me except that Shareen. Can't feel my lips any more. I need to wipe my ass with a snow cone ice-cream.

CHILI # 7 - SELINA'S "MOTHER-IN-LAW'S-TONGU E" CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- A mediocre curry with too much reliance on canned peppers.

Judge # 2 -- Ho hum, tastes as if the chef literally threw in a can of chilli peppers at the last moment. (I should take note at this stage that I am worried about Judge # 3. He appears to be in a bit of distress as he is cursing uncontrollably).

Judge # 3 -- You could put a grenade in my mouth, pull the pin, and I wouldn't feel a thing. I've lost sight in one eye, and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water. My shirt is covered with curry which slid unnoticed out of my mouth. My pants are full of lava to match my shirt. At least, during the autopsy, they'll know what killed me. I've decided to stop breathing - it's too painful. Screw it; I'm not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air I'll just suck it in through the 4-inch hole in my stomach.

CURRY # 8 - NAIDOO'S TOENAIL CURLING CURRY...

Judge # 1 -- The perfect ending. This is a nice blend curry. Not too bold but spicy enough to declare its existence.

Judge # 2 -- This final entry is a good, balanced curry. Neither mild nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge #3 farted, passed out, fell over and pulled the curry pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he's going to make it. Poor man, I wonder how he'd have reacted to really hot curry?

This is an old film but is excellent watching. At this time the country was being run by a group of politicians led by Sir Roy Welensky. If left to our own devices we would have had a truly multi-racial co-operative people working in partnership. The West didn't want this so they screwed us over.

An Emerging Writer

Some of you will know that I write a bit. My daughter, who was born in Salisbury, Rhodesia at the Lady Chancellor Maternity Home, has lived in Japan with her husband for many years. She now has a two year old daughter, Sahratia, and has taken up her pen. She is writing a series of travel articles and also a novel.

A typical Rhodesian girl, she has had quite an adventurous life and is a 5th Dan at Karate and Kobudo and 4th Dan at Iaido. She is a Sensei. She was also the first ever Natal Paragliding Champion. As a school girl she was awarded the Top Award for Guiding in the Republic of South Africa. As she is a student of English at the University of Maryland in Naha City I can vouch that her standard of English is better than mine! She has travelled extensively in various countries of the Far East and Australia.

She is writing for practise a series of stories about life in Japan as seen through the eyes of a two-year old.

I think they are pretty good but then I am biased. Please have a look at them and if you care to post a comment at the end of the site or Lens as it is called please do. I know she will appreciate the views of other people.

In the midst of all our political turmoil and bad news in the press, it's nice to share a heart-warming story!

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out..

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap...'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'
